Welcome to Our Musical Journey!

“Youth Inspiring Youth Through the Gift of Music."

About

We’re a passionate team of students with extensive musical backgrounds, on a mission to empower our community through the transformative power of music. Believing wholeheartedly that *youth can inspire youth to give back*, we’ve launched an initiative to bring comprehensive music education to children from low-income families. By sharing our love for music, we’re opening doors to opportunities that might have once seemed out of reach.

Our program thrives on the belief that when young people lift each other up, incredible things happen. We’re not just teaching music; we’re cultivating a supportive community where youth empowerment is at the forefront. As our students learn and grow, they become inspirations within their own circles, perpetuating a positive cycle of giving back.

How

Our program is more than just violin lessons; it’s a holistic musical journey designed to immerse children in the vibrant world of music. We believe that exposure to various musical experiences can ignite a lifelong passion. We take our students to live concerts, introduce them to different genres, teach them about music history and theory and help them to grow in music. Through these enriching activities, we aim to help them fall in love with music and carry it with them for life.

Why music

Music is more than notes on a page—it’s a universal language that touches the soul and nurtures the mind. For children facing economic challenges, engaging with music can be a beacon of hope and a source of lifelong benefits. Studies have shown that music education significantly improves mental health, reducing the risk of depression, alleviating anxiety, and enhancing communication skills. These are not just skills for the stage but tools that enrich every aspect of life.

Where

Many of the children we work with live in subdivided housing and come from households where access to music education is limited or non-existent. We’re committed to changing that narrative. By offering free music lessons and immersive experiences at local community centres like the YMCA and Onesky, we’re providing a safe, creative space for kids from the age of 6 to explore their talents, build confidence, and find joy in self-expression.

Our Partnets

P. C. Lee OneSky Global Centre for Early Childhood Development was founded in 2020 by OneSky for all children (OneSky), a global NGO. The Centre aims to empower caregivers who care for children from low-income families (ages 0-6) to help foster their children’s growth through parenting and early childhood care training. By providing a wide variety of early education, responsive child care services, parent-child activities, caregiver support, consultation and referral services at a parenting-friendly, playful and inspirational environment, we encourage caregivers to play, learn and grow together with children. Besides, the Centre also promotes a professional, supportive network through educating community caregivers.

YMCA is a world Christian movement, with the Paris Basis as its mission: “The Young Men’s Christian Associations seek to unite those young men who, regarding Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour, according to the Holy Scriptures, desire to be His disciples in their faith and in their life, and to associate their efforts for the extension of His Kingdom amongst young men.”

Based on the same mission, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong was established in 1901. The objective and purpose were clearly stated in the Constitution as “the development of Christian character and the cultivation of the Christian spirit of service among young men, in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.”
